With InstaWP 3.4.0, we’re drawing a bold line between personal workflows and monetization-ready content. This release introduces Snapshots, redefines how templates are structured, and improves the overall product experience with better UI clarity, deeper monetization control, and key fixes.
Let’s walk you through what’s new, improved, and fixed in this update.
Table of Contents
What’s New?
1. Snapshots vs Templates: A Clean New Architecture
One of the most impactful changes in InstaWP 3.4.0 is the clear separation between Snapshots and Templates, each now serving a distinct purpose in your workflow.
Snapshots are designed for personal or internal team use. These act as reusable, private or shared site blueprints — perfect for agencies and developers who frequently spin up similar environments.
- Sites created from Snapshots are deployed under the user’s account
- They can be Shared (with teams or clients) or kept Private
- Setup Wizard, Site Gallery, and branding/email collection are all supported
- Social sharing is improved with template preview images shown in link previews

In contrast, Templates are now monetized, intended for public listing and distribution via the marketplace.
- Sites created from Templates go into a guest account
- Templates now clearly display:
- Price and Marketplace listing status
- Site creation count from guest users
- A Preview button for a fast visual walkthrough
- Payout setup is now mandatory for creating paid templates

Monetized templates can no longer be switched back to demonetized. If needed, you’ll have to delete and recreate them.
This clear division streamlines the platform, separating internal usage from monetization, making it easier for users to manage both workflows.
2. New “Sales” Section for Templates & Hosting
We’ve also introduced a brand-new Sell > Sales section in your dashboard, designed to consolidate all your monetization insights in one place.
- Tracks both template sales and hosting plan sales
- Available under the new Sell tab in the sidebar
This makes it easier to track revenue and performance without hunting through different pages.
3. PHP 8.4 & UX Enhancements
Alongside architectural changes, v3.4.0 also brings key improvements to infrastructure and usability.
- PHP 8.4 support is now live across all servers, keeping your dev environments ahead of the curve
- Multiple UI elements across Snapshots, Templates, and the Sell section have been updated for clarity and ease of use
- Slack integration has been fixed, ensuring real-time notifications are back in sync
- Template creation now checks for payout configuration to avoid setup errors
This update makes InstaWP feel more purpose-built, polished, and powerful, whether you’re building, testing, or selling WordPress experiences.
Improvements
- Updated visuals and layouts make it easier to distinguish between personal Snapshots and monetized Templates.
- All InstaWP servers now support PHP 8.4 for cutting-edge compatibility and testing.
- Template and Hosting sales now live under a single, dedicated Sell section for better access and tracking.

- Performance graphs for monetized templates are now found under Template > Sales for a clearer overview.
- A Preview button to quickly see what the template looks like before launching
Fixes
- Fixed Slack Integration with the InstaWP app
- Resolved issue with LocalWP backup import
- Fixed bug in PHP config settings visibility
- Permanent Site toggle now fixed
- The managed site’s team name and user email ID are now properly shown
- Resolved header glitch during site hard refresh after a new release
Conclusion
InstaWP 3.4.0 is a pivotal release that formalizes the split between personal workflows and monetization-ready templates. Whether you’re building privately with Snapshots or monetizing with Templates, the platform now gives you clearer control and smarter organization, all while improving stability and user experience.
